Ty Miller has a Youtube Channel evolving around MBTI and self-development. Ty is also an INFJ. Being ENFPs, we are always curious about how introverted intuition actually works. This topic never gets tiring. So we decided to ask Ty a few questions about Ni. This interview is also on Youtube, if you prefer watching a video.

For anyone who is new to MBTI: “Ni” means introverted intuition; “Ne” is extraverted intuition. “Se” is extraverted sensing and “si” is introverted sensing. These are two of the perceiving functions. The other two functions are feeling/thinking and judging/perceiving.

So Ty. Could you think of an example from your life when you experienced introverted intuition?

[We ask this question because we want to understand the actual experience. And in order to do that, we need a point of reference.]

TY: Ni is like being in a constant state of wanting to obtain a broad overview of something before offering or seeking the facts/information to support it (Se). Ultimately, for me it feels like a need to organize/understand a path before I act on it. Ni, specifically at the top, is extra dependent on organizing this path again and again, until there is no other option but act on it (Se).
