Andrew Tate & Co: Why Alpha Males Are So Popular
What’s a real man supposed to be like? Many don’t know, and turn to “alpha males” like Andrew Tate for guidance. But does he really know better?
Society is changing rapidly, especially gender roles. This change creates a longing for clear-cut models of assertiveness and strength.
So young men adopt “gurus” like Andrew Tate as a role model.
I get it, this world has become so complex that sometimes we don’t know how to act. But… Why this guy?
[PS: At the end of this article I’m sharing my thoughts on what to do instead, in case you’re not sure how to be a manly man.]
Why Andrew Tate, Of All People?
Personally, I think Andrew Tate exudes his very own kind of cringe, and I don’t understand how he can have a fanbase.
I’m sure that I’m not alone with this sentiment.
For starters, he’s not the smartest kid in school, to put it mildly. He’s not good-looking either. The biggest issue, though, is his behavior from an ethical perspective.
Yet I’ve encountered at least a few men who’d say stuff like “but sometimes he has a point”.
I’m female by the way, so I guess my aversion towards toxic masculinity is not surprising.
